    01

    Make some priorities.

Six sliders. No right answers. Turn up what you love, ignore what you don't, and watch the ladder respond. Your budget, storage minimum, region, and platform are hard limits.

    02

    Read between the numbers.

A fit range is a feature, not a footnote. The lower bound uses only verified inputs; the upper bound shows what unresolved evidence could add. Evidence coverage is separate from fit. It is not a probability you'll love a phone.

    03

Check the exact thing you buy.

A different storage tier can mean a different price. Open a match for its exact configuration, dated retailer observation, and linked evidence. Always recheck the merchant's price and carrier compatibility before paying.

Show the math. No black box. +

    Version crush-1.0. We divide each nonzero weight by the sum of all weights. Lower fit = 100 × Σ(weight × verified utility) / Σ(all weights). Upper fit = lower + 100 × Σ(unresolved weights) / Σ(all weights). Evidence coverage = 100 × Σ(verified weights) / Σ(all weights).

    Our preference rubrics, clipped to 0-1: storage = log₂(GB / 64) / 4, saturating at 1 TB; detail = (calculated PPI − 200) / 350; smoothness = ln(Hz / 30) / ln(144 / 30); pocketability = (85 − width in mm) / 25. Foldables use verified folded width only when you explicitly enable it.

Camera and battery use one publisher, identical protocol, mode, and unit per criterion. We choose the largest sourced comparable cohort (at least 3 unique models), breaking ties alphabetically by cohort ID. Percentile = (number below + (number tied − 1) / 2) / (cohort size − 1). Incompatible tests stay unresolved; we never translate protocol generations.

Your worked calculation will appear here when a verified configuration qualifies. No example device scores are substituted.

    GOOD QUESTIONS.

    Before you
    fall for a phone.

What about phones that just launched?+

Official announcement discovery has a six-hour cache and runs in resumable batches. Verified new identities enter New arrivals before optional tests. Preorders stay distinct from retail availability. Failed refreshes and incomplete batches are visible; this is not a complete world catalogue.

Why not just compare camera megapixels?+

Pixel count is not our camera-quality metric. We use independent measurements only within the same publisher and protocol. Photo, video, and zoom modes appear when sourced tests exist. A new protocol is a separate cohort, not a bigger number to pool with the old one.

What happens when a test is missing?+

That contribution stays unknown and hatched. The score shows a range, and the phone stays discoverable. Missing hard constraints such as an exact regional price move a phone to Needs checking, never into the budget-qualified basket.

Are these the prices I will pay?+

Prices are dated observations for an exact region and storage configuration, before applicable tax and shipping. A verified offer qualifies for six hours; after that it is historical until rechecked. Financing, activation offers, trade-ins, and carrier credits are excluded. Always confirm the merchant page.

What does the $19 Household Plan add?+

Organization, not better recommendations. One payment unlocks up to four private named profiles, a shared basket, explained cheaper swaps, and PDF plus CSV exports. Basic matching, every citation, launch discovery, and individual snapshots remain free. There is no subscription or artificial profile expiry.
